Presentation: Panel: Which Java Vendor Should I Choose?

Jeanne Boyarsky is a Java developer and part time ScrumMaster. She co-authored Wiley’s OCA/OCP 8 certification books and is updating them for the Java 11. In addition to volunteering at CodeRanch, she mentors the programmers on a high school robotics team and won a mentorship award. In the last year, Jeanne has spoken at conferences including Oracle Code One, DevNexus and QCon.

Simon Ritter is the Deputy CTO of Azul Systems. Simon joined Sun Microsystems in 1996 and spent time working in both Java development and consultancy. He has been presenting Java technologies to developers since 1999 focusing on the core Java platform as well as client and embedded applications.

Now at Azul Systems he continues to help people understand Java and Azul’s JVM products. He represents Azul on the JCP Executive Committee as well as the JSR Expert Groups for JDK 9, 10, 11 and 12.

Tony Printezis is a Staff Software Engineer at Twitter and a member of the VM Team in the Infrastructure Organization. He has over 20 years of virtual machine implementation experience with special focus on memory management. Most of his projects have involved improving the performance, scalability, responsiveness, parallelism, concurrency, monitoring, and visualization of garbage collectors. He was one of the designers of (and tech lead of) the G1 GC and the original implementer of the CMS GC.

Before Twitter, Tony worked at Adobe, the Java organization at Oracle and Sun Microsystems, and Sun Microsystems Laboratories. He holds a PhD and a BSc(Hons) in Computing Science, both from the University of Glasgow in Scotland.

Sai Sharan Donthi over the past 9 years he has worked on loan evaluation, price testing, Risk Based PnL analytics, Credit and Market risk analytical platforms as part of a Financial Technology Division in New York. Recently he has been working on Risk and Finance Reporting and Analytics platform with real time risk analytics, natural language processing, natural language generation, cross integration across multiple business intelligence platforms including rich HTML/Javascript reports, Tableau, Qlik, Oracle Business Intelligence, SAP Business Objects reporting solutions.  As a passionate Java engineer, he volunteers to help organize the New York Java Special Interest Group (NYJavaSIG) monthly meetings in New York.
