Yuri Shkuro is a software engineer at Uber Technologies, working on distributed tracing, observability, reliability, and performance problems; author of the book "Mastering Distributed Tracing"; creator of Jaeger, Uber's open source distributed tracing system (a CNCF project); co-founder of the OpenTracing and OpenTelemetry CNCF projects; invited expert in W3C Distributed Tracing Working Group.

Speaker: Phil Calçado

Director, Platform Engineering @Meetup

Phil Calçado is the Director of Engineering, Developer Platform for Meetup/WeWork, where he leads the organization's efforts to modernize the most successful platform for people to meet in real life. Before that, he was an architect at Buoyant, working on the pioneering Service Mesh open source software, and director of engineering at DigitalOcean, leading the microservices adoption that now powers the cloud provider. Phil is a known pioneer in microservices, as he headed the teams that built SoundCloud's microservices architecture and their product engineering organization.

Susanne Kaiser works as an independent Tech Consultant tackling complexities from software architecture to software delivery. She was previously working as a startup CTO transforming their SaaS solution from monolith to microservices. She has a background in computer sciences and experience in software development & architecture for more than 15 years and regularly presents at and co-organize international tech conferences.

Ian Nowland is the VP Engineering Metrics and Alerting at Datadog. Before that he was SVP Engineering Manager of the Compute Platform at Two Sigma, and he spent 8 years in AWS where his major achievement was building the team that shipped the first three generations of the EC2 Nitro platform.
